Project 365 backlog - day 023/365
New York State Of Mind

Six days in New York City is far too little when one has to
- show ones friend around town
- take advantage of the cheap US Dollar
- spend time with various friends and loved ones from four states
- spend HOURS oozing through my slice of Heaven, a.k.a. B&H Photo Video =D
- Wine and dine like the best of them!

I only truly had my camera out one day. My fingers nearly stuck to the shutter, that is how cold it was. I may be born and bred in Denmark but there are NO viking genes in me whatsoever.

This was shot super early while en route to see my acupuncturer in Chinatown.

and just because I had way too much time playing around with PhotoShop tonight:

Later that day I took my friend Maja to greet Lady Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry. Would have LOVED to go on a proper tour including Ellis Island, but our schedule was tight as we were meeting friends for dinner at Buddakan. HIGHLY recommended by the way.

These are my favorite images:

(did you notice the plane in the background?)

Please leave a comment :)

Have a GREAT weekend!

Project 365 Backlog - day 20
Art and Ice

I have not been shooting all that much this past week. As some of you know my friend Maja and I just returned from New York City where our schedule was jam-packed, leaving little time to play with my cameras. Plural. I'll get back to that in a day or two =P

This was shot upside down while in transit at Brussels Airport. If only someone had bothered to polish this artwork it would have made a perfect pic =D

En route to JFK we passed the tip of Greenland. Magnificent sight! Soooo dramatic - I am seriously considering heading up there a couple of days (I am no fan of cold weather though).

As you can tell I am in a black & white phase these days - please bare with me.

More to follow over the next days. Hope you all had as great a week as I. Please take a minute to fill me in on what you have been up to?

Project 365 - day 17
The Simple Life

Over the past years I find myself living more and more simple, taking pleasure in little things.

While living downtown Copenhagen I was within a block of two major parks, the Botanical Garden, and lakes full of swans and herons. I thought I had it all yet now I find myself constantly amazed how much I missed being surrounded by "real" unsculptured nature.

Tonight as the sun set I hung a ball of bird feed on one of the old crooked apple trees in my back yard. Immidiately birds in the neighboring trees started to chirp as to say "Thank You". It made me smile.

I brought my camera along en route to the grocery store this afternoon. Our vehicle taxes being out the roof many people commute by bus, train, Metro, or on good oldfashioned bicycles. Mine is a blue 10-speed I hope to get back on by summer.

This caught my eye.

As I was having a hard time picking an image from todays batch I am throwing in a few more for good measure.

Have a wonderful weekend!

- A feeling?

Project 365 - day 12
Carte Postal

As Le Grand Moving Adventure unfortunately coinsided with The Holidays I never got to mail out cards and treats like I use to. My apologies to everyone - I promise to do better this year.

To make up for it I had postcards with some of my pics printed :o)

The package arrived today and the quality is even better than I was hoping for!

Now all I have to do is dig out my address book...

Have a fandangtastic day!

Project 365 - day 11
Pink Sky

In my less than two weeks of living at the new old house I have mentioned about a billion times how much I love being able to lay in bed while watching the sun rise and set. In the morning I catch the reflection in the winter room window, and at night it sets east of the lake, setting the sky on fire.

Today it was especially fabulous, all pinks and purple and reds.

According to MadSci pink sunsets are rare because purple light has a shorter wavelength than red, and thus scatters easier.

Well, enough geek speak - hope you will enjoy the sunset with me.

Project 365 - day 10
I'm In Chains

Quite the fitting title :)

Although I have been stuck in bed the camera has been out every day. Mainly around the house (which is still a huge mess with unpacked boxes all over I might add) however today I went for a walk.

In my new neighborhood is an old mill by a creak. It dates back to 1762, still functions, and is currently occupied by a shop selling organic grains and flour.
The weather being gloomy I opted for detail.

Also, two bonus shots (nothing fancy) for atmosphere.

I am off to continue planning the NYC trip :)

Project 365 - day 6
Hang 'em High

This project is off to a bad start *blush*

Between work and getting situated @ my new old house I had a couple of days the camera never made it out. I will do better - six days in I can already tell I am pushing myself to be more creative.

Today I played with my macro lens in the back yard. I can see this clothes line from my bedroom window, and for days it has had me mesmerized as sun light projects through the pins.

Hope I did it justice.

Project 365 - day 2

Today my Aunt and I went for a walk by the lake at my new house. The sun was setting, it is freezing, and we had a pinch of powder snow.
This is my favorite shot.

Have I mentioned I love my new neighborhood?
